Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced that his government would start the implementation of 10 per cent reservation for non-reserved category people from January 14 2020. Gujarat will become the first state in India to implement quota for economically backward classes.
The reservations are for applicants from economically weaker class of the population of gujarat from the general category in all government jobs and education institutions. Its implementation would come into effect for admissions of applicants or government jobs recruitment process that not yet to begin.
